Call
for Poster Presentations....
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
A link for abstract
submission will be e-mailed to you after completing your
conference registration.
The deadline to submit an abstract to be included in the
conference program has passed.
However, you may still submit an abstract via the link in the
confirmation e-mail and we will provide a board for it's
display.
NOTES REGARDING ONLINE FORM
 | Each
conference registrant can submit up to two
abstracts. Multiple posters are welcome
and will be invited once assessment on space
availability is made. Contact
Maria Labreveux,
PhD
for questions on
multiple poster submissions. |
 | The length
of the abstract should not exceed 250 words.
|
 | Abstracts
will be made public and published in the
program; therefore make sure to NOT
disclose any confidential or proprietary
information that may hinder your ability to
pursue intellectual property rights.
|
 | The abstract
should be written in layman's language, to
be generally understood by people with
varied scientific backgrounds and fields of
research. |
POSTERS AND DISPLAY BOARDS
 |
Display
Boards: The maximum poster
size is 3 feet 10 inches high by 7 feet 10
inches wide. The display board's
total surface area is 4 feet high by 8 feet
wide but a two-inch interior margin should
be left. Bring your
own materials for attaching your poster to
the composition board, preferably push-pins
or Velcro
(do not use
staples).
|
 |
Event
Timeline: Each author is
responsible for the set up and removal of
his/her presentation. Set up should be
completed by 8:30 AM on the day of the
conference, with tear down between 4:30-5:00
PM. If you are unable to arrive on time to
set up or tear down your poster, please make
arrangements with a colleague and inform
Maria Labreveux,
PhD. Materials left on boards after the removal
deadline will be taken down and discarded. KSTC accepts no responsibility for material
that may be lost or damaged.
|
 |
Poster
Numbers: Display boards will
be numbered corresponding to poster numbers
in the program book. Assigned numbers will
be made available shortly after the abstract
submission deadline. Posters must be mounted
on their assigned board; the poster number
will be displayed on the top left corner of
each board.
|
 |
Posters Grouping:
Posters will be grouped by
research focus areas and listed in the
program; the time authors must be at the
assigned space to discuss their projects
will be indicated therein. Authors must be
available to present their work and answer
questions, expand on the material, and take
part in discussions at the designated times
for odd and even number posters.
|
 |
Poster Contents:
A short and legible
introduction, summary of conclusions and impact
of the research should be included on your
poster. Figure legends are
vital and should be short but informative.
Focus the information presented on your
poster to essential data which will
stimulate informal discussion.
|
 |
Poster Displays:
Type should be easily
legible at a distance of 4 feet; hand
lettering is to be avoided. Matte finish on
photographs reduces glare, providing better
visibility. Availability of hand-out
materials and photocopies of the poster are
helpful. Do not write, draw, tape or paste
on the display board surface. Do bring your
own supplies/push-pins. Electricity and
wireless internet are not available at
poster boards.
|
 | Do
NOT include any specific data, including
figures and tables, in your poster that may
be considered a disclosure by the U.S.
Patent Office. Ask your
Intellectual Property (IP) Office if you are
in doubt. |
